The student should arrange meetings with the advisor (and/or co-advisor) on a regular basis to consult or discuss ways and means to accomplish the thesis. Prog¬ress reports should be prepared and submitted to the advisor (and/or co-advisor) periodically. It is recommended that a formal progress report submitted to the Advisory Committee or Program Director at least once approximately halfway toward the thesis completion.
7. THESIS EXAMINATION 7.1 Thesis examination will be an oral examination. 7.2 The oral examination will be used to test the student’s knowledge and thorough understanding of the thesis topic. 7.3 The student must submit a copy of the final thesis and the approved abstract to each member of the Examination Committee at least 2 weeks before the actual examination date 7.4 The Examination Committee must approve the pass of oral examination. 7.5 A student must submit the four copies of the complete and approved thesis includ¬ing the abstract (in English) to the faculty of Science and Technology within 3 weeks after the oral examination, otherwise, grade result may be delayed until he/she has submitted it. 7.6 All work including the oral examination must be finished at least 5 weeks before the expiration of the permitted ten semesters for the completion of the requirements for the degre英语论文网 【http://www.51lunwen.org】e.
8. THESIS RESULT The examination committee can approve the passing of the student through a majority opinion. The grade given to the thesis may be either S (satisfactory) or U (Unsatisfactory). Should a student receive a U for the thesis, further revisions of the thesis and re¬examination are required. The student is entitled to sit for one more examination in which the mark awarded by the examination committee is final (either “S” or “U”). If the student receives a U from the second oral examination, he/she will not be eligible for graduation.
9. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS To be qualified for graduation, the student must 9.1 Complete all the requirements in the curriculum with not less than 36 accumulated credits for MSIT, MSCS and MSTS or 42 accu¬mulated credits for MSTecM depending on the requirement of the program that he/she is currently studying; 9.2 Earn a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.00; and 9.3 Pass the thesis oral examination and submit the 4 completed and approved copies of the thesis including the abstract in English, to the faculty of Science and Technology.
10. THESIS FORMAT The following format is applicable to the thesis: 10.1 The thesis and abstract must be prepared in the English language using 12 point “Times New Roman” font, using only black ink on white, at least 80 grams
