Optimization For Gamma Knife Treatment Planning

Department of Mathematical Science, Tsinghua University Ø Abstract In our paper, two models have been developed to tackle the sphere-packing problem in the optimal treatment planning for a gamma knife radiosurgery, namely Genetic Algorithm Model and Skeleton Model.
In our proposal, we assume that a shot is formed by converging all the 201 beams radiating simultaneously and the shot differs in light of the radius of the beams. In addition, the shots are regarded as packing spheres with radiuses which are defined by the distance from the 50%-isodose points to the isocenters.
